This was a recruitment process for interested high school band students to come and join the illustrious band program at the collegiate level.
Registration for the event was free by scanning the QR code. The first 200 students that were able to register will get a free gift, and the school with the most participants will get an award and a cash donation. There was an on-site band scholarship audition for anyone to tryout and be able to come to FSU for free — a full ride.
High school students supplied their own instruments. The attire for the event was to wear their school’s band shirt or anything that represented their high school and tennis shoes.
Not only was this for high school band students, but also the new Queens of MBX Auxiliary. They can bring their flags and baton as well as wear their school or dance academy shirt and dance shoes.
The MBXperience had a lot of shows such as, Drum Major Showcase, Auxiliary & Drumline Feature, Dance Routine, and a Field Show Presentation as a special treat.

Smith High School, Seventy-First High School, Douglas Bryd High School, Westover High School, Pine Forest High School, Reid Ross Classical School, Massey Hill Classical High School, and Gray’s Creek High School. The high schools outside of Fayetteville include Hoke County High School, West Charlotte High School, Hopewell High School, Hugh M. Cummings High School, Hertford County High School, Monroe High School, Phillip O. Berry High School and more.
The music performed in the lineup of the show included: “In Storm and Sunshine,” “Retribution Fanfare,” “Bronco Xpress,” “Who Can I Run To Rain,” which is a featured mixed from the female groups Xscape and SWV. Other songs featured included popular songs such as a Rhianna mix of her songs “Disturbia” and “Girl in the World,” “Booty” by Saucy Santana, “Unholy” by Sam Smith, “Just Wanna Rock” by Lil Uzi Vert, “Tomorrow” by Glorilla, and “Victory lap” and “Turn My Swag On” by Soulja Boy. Lastly, the performance ended with “Neck” featuring Tau Beta Sigma Sorority and Kappa Kappa Psi Fraternity.

Of all the students that attended the MBXperience, there was a total of 310, and 256 alone registered — so records were broken that day.
Last fall, the band reached 100 members and next fall the number is going up to 150.
Overall, there was a lot of growth and a lot of excitement for next season as well.
