NBA MVP Race
posted by Zaire Jones | April 16, 2024 | In SportsThe current race for the NBA MVP is heating up just 3 games left in the NBA season.
With 76ers’ Joel Embiid dominating the race before tearing his meniscus, the last month has been down to Dallas’s Luka Doncic and Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic. Doncic has been in the MVP conversation ever since his third year. This year, from a talent perspective, it’s Doncic’s best team in his career. Doncic is averaging a career best in points and assists a game. His 9.2 rebounds per game is the second-best in his career. With fellow guard Kyrie Irving and others, the Mavs are in prime position to be a threat in the Western Conference. The Mavs currently hold the 5th seed in the West.
Then we have the two-time MVP, Nikola Jokic. The man has been playing at a very efficient level. His play makes this Denver Nuggets squad one the best of the NBA. Jokic is averaging nearly a triple double and is currently leading the race slightly according to NBA.COM. If Jokic wins, it will be his third MVP in four years.
Doncic and Jokic are two of the best players in the world. The question is now who will the media sway towards in one of the tightest MVP races in a while?
