Don’t Put Everything On The Internet
posted by My'Hessa Andrews | October 10, 2023 | In OpinionThe internet is the place that can help fulfill your needs big or small, but the internet has also been known to cause drama or even kill dreams. I would be lying if I said I haven’t ever put my business on the internet, so believe me when I say things will come back to haunt you later. Take it from me when I say don’t put everything on the internet. Here are a few things that you should just keep to yourself:
Your Relationships
We all know somebody who shares their relationships on the internet, and everyone knows if their relationship is going through a rough patch. While this is your life, and you can do what you want, you can’t get mad when people put their two cents in your relationship because you let people in that space by posting it on a public platform. Secondly, you’re putting your relationship in the danger zone because you don’t know who has your best interests in mind.
Your Plans
While I know sometimes we become so excited about our plans that we feel the need to share, you never know who is praying for your downfall. Some people don’t want to see you win and even though that is a hard pill to swallow, it’s a sad truth. Sometimes we speak too soon and then wonder why some plans or goals didn’t work out.
Your Opinions
While everyone does have the right to say what they want, some things are better left unsaid. Not everything needs a think-piece or opinion attached to it, and sometimes it is better to just let things be. Opinions on ethnic groups or lifestyle groups especially shouldn’t be discussed on the internet in my opinion. If you are looking to work in the corporate world, I would advise you to leave those two topics alone because you never know who your next boss could be.
