Greek Row Has Been Unveiled

The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Dr. Juanette Council, welcomed everyone to this momentous occasion, stating, “It’s been long time coming.”
The unveiling of Greek Row consists of the ribbon cutting of Greek Plaza and permanent return of the Greek plots.
Chancellor Darrell Allison provided special remarks about the “we” effort that brought about the inspiration of establishing Greek Row and the intention to see this project completion.
Jacob Crutchfield, Mr. FSU met with Chancellor Allison and expressed that he felt as if the area which holds Greek Row had been “neglected.” Crutchfield, a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., expressed to The Voice that his role in advocating for the return of the plots was a means by which he could “bridge the gap” and establish a welcoming and necessary spaces for each organization of National Pan-Hellenic Council.
Dr. Naadiya Hopkins, the Director of Student Activities & Engagement, began her remarks by stating the call & response chat, “Attitude Check: Bronco Pride!” As a alumni and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Dr. Hopkins states that the permeant return of the Greek plots would be “flagship for other HBCUs” and highlight the unity of FSU NPHC.
The re-invigoration of Greek plots was a collective project with undergraduate members of the NPHC as well as alumni, developing the concept of the Greek plots and commissioning artists at the begin in the Summer of 2021 under the direction of Mr. Gregory Moyd, who is the Assistant Vice Chancellor for the Division of Student Affairs. The artists are Philip Osborn and Brandon Coley.
The FSU NPHC president, Jordan Ferguson, states that the plaza provides the student body at FSU with an “opportunity to learn about our organizations and our impact.”
Greek Plaza highlights the founding and charter dates of each organization of FSU NPHC. In addition to this information, the respective shields and motto of each organization of the FSU NPHC.
The Greek plots connects many generations of students who attend Fayetteville State University. Since 1952, Greek life has been vital part of student life at FSU. The Greek plots displays the colors of each organization of the FSU NPHC.
