Studying in the AM

Being a college student can be challenging. Late night studying is one of the most common ways for a college student to study, but according to Spark Notes and other recent studies, studying in the morning allows students to be more alert and retain more information compared to studying at night.

Exam Time blog also supports that studying in the morning is more effective. They state that natural light is better for your eyes, while artificial light can harm your eyes and interfere with your natural sleep rhythm.

Of course, out of curiosity, I wanted to test this method to determine if my tests scores would actually improve. A week before my test, I began reviewing my notes each morning, including the morning of the test. I completed my exam with ease, and I noticed that I was more alert than I had been on my previous exam and scored 5 points higher.

This method worked for me. I recommend that you experiment with different methods to determine which one benefits you most. You may be surprised to find that morning studying improves your focus and ultimately your grade.
