The Geese Are Mean
posted by Alayyah Pinder | March 4, 2024 | In OpinionHave you ever been walking to class and find yourself navigating the sidewalk as though you’re in a miniature maze? Have you ever walked outside and felt as though you were being followed by a gang? Encountering those black beady eyes and massive wingspan can be quite terrifying. If you attend Fayetteville State University, then you’ve probably encountered the infamous geese, so infamous there’s a news article about them.
These geese are something that all visitors and residents of this campus must experience. There’s nothing that can be done about their presence, which I guess makes them more of a nuisance for our residents and visitors.
I find them very fun to watch, it’s rather amusing when they chase other people. To be chased by one, on the other hand, is not as enjoyable. I prefer to keep a great distance from them because I am afraid of them and personally find them to be quite a nuisance. My biggest issue would be their crucial role of turning the sidewalks into a game of hopscotch.
Most students have quite an issue with the geese: they’re fizz famous! I interviewed my roommate on the topic, and she too dislikes the geese.
“They’re so rude!” she said.
Apparently, she stopped walking to allow the geese to cross her path and two of them began to chase her.
The geese are mean.
While there’s nothing we can do about their presence, do you think something can be done about their gifts?
