Congrats, Broncos! It’s the End of the COVID Semester!
posted by Victoria Walker | November 6, 2020 | In OpinionWith all the craziness of this semester, it has been a lot, to just sit back, and be grateful for the accomplishment of making it through this semester. The beginning of this semester brought lots of challenges for us from learning to adapt to a new way of face-to-face interaction to learning a whole new way of living. It took us a minute with casing spiking on campus several times, but we learned, and we made it.
If you cannot see just how truly huge this accomplishment is let me tell you why it is so big.
We came on campus with so much fear and anxiety over the unexpected, but we are in the final weeks so sure of how strong and resilient we are. We are still on campus and actually socializing and attending events without spikes in cases. We, unlike some North Carolina colleges and universities, proved we could have the college experience responsibly while protecting our peers’ safety as well as our own.
We proved this semester that we are truly a force to be reckoned with. We showed Bronco Pride while protecting the safety of each of our Bronco Family members. Most importantly we learned to bond through this semester. We learned to make friends and allies through unusual ways. We learned how to operate virtually while still learning to evolve to our current situation.
As we enter these last weeks, I say congratulations Broncos because I, like many others, started off with doubt, but I’m ending this semester with so much pride in not only my university, but my peers.
