FSU Volleyball edges out Saint Augustine’s 3-2
posted by Zaire Jones | November 21, 2023 | In SportsThe FSU volleyball team was able to come back on their home turf 2-1 and beat Saint Augustine University 3-2 in the 4th and 5th set on November 6.
Being that this was Senior Night and the last home of the season, the FSU volleyball team wanted to show out and they did.
The Broncos won the first set 25-15, the second set 25-18 and the 5th set in a nail-biter 17-15. FSU volleyball led in every stat category in this game, leading to their victory.
The Broncos had 55 kills,10 aces, 10 blocks, 55 assists and 92 digs. The game leaders for kills were Chiara Vittoni with 15 kills, A’Lexus Everett with 14 kills and Casandra Watson with 14 kills as well. Alexia Bryant led the Broncos with 4 aces and Nikole Akamine and Jaida Bynum followed up with 2 assists each.
With this win, the FSU volleyball team moves on to 17-12 on the season and 14-3 record in the CIAA conference. This win for the Broncos puts them at a 5-1 record to finish off schedule at home and looking to build momentum for the CIAA tournament.
