POETRY POINT: hurt.
posted by DorMiya Vance | November 1, 2021 | In Arts and Culture(of a person) feel mental pain or distress: be detrimental to.
my feelings mutilated
2 close to the golden community that’s gated
I hate it
here, where the pain is everlasting
I’m reminded by every moment passing
crashing, no energy for unmasking
my soul in its true form
scorned, I am a woman of fury & I seen what hell like
Sexual objectification, I play the game, but I’m left torn
could I be reborn?
despite what I see, i know what I attract
men, & yes Black, seeing me as only horizontal with my self-esteem cracked
I’m trapped… in a cycle known to be vicious
again I play the game & yes, I know my decisions
I’m just worried about the commission
“Love” is no longer a term of endearment.
“Love” is the way men control women as if it was a social experiment.
but y’all ain’t hearing it
“Love” is no longer a term of endearment.
“Love” is another way a man can feel secure, leaving the woman chasing after his lure.
“Love” is no longer a term of endearment.
sure, when it’s real you just know like Badu
pure is what these men lack…not you
The father-daughter experience plays a part
in the heart of the grown woman once her life starts
Men around her represent her father.
Even though the relationship was toxic for starters
Her father is the dream she wants
No man can fulfill even tho he flaunts
The woman is hurt, unhealed.
The Black woman enters the love battlefield
Skilled, though her opposition uncouth
Though the man may defeat her, there’s still truth
here, where the pain is everlasting I’m still reminded by every moment passing
