The event hosted over one hundred people from the surrounding city and community. Women’s Business Center of Fayetteville at Center for Economic Empowerment and Development co-sponsored this event and a representative from CEED gave a special speech in support of the new salon.
This event was commemorated with a ribbon cutting ceremony done by Kasia Howard who is the founder and visionary of pHortified Skin and Hair Studio. Kasia Howard is a licensed esthetician and natural hair care specialist. Howard takes pride in what she does and who she is: she is a Black, female, disabled veteran, and now business owner.
She stated that: “I am honored to be a part of a profession that makes lasting, positive differences in the lives of people every day.”
pHortified Skin and Hair Studio is a multicultural salon and spa that services all skin types, hair types, ethnicities, and genders. While the studio services all in the community, pHortified places special emphasis toward those of African ethnic descent. These individuals commonly deal with specific skin and hair conditions due to their diet, hereditary diseases, cultural habits, and lifestyle.
