FSU Basketball Rivalry Weekend Review

The women’s team won their game 59 to 46 with Aniylah Bryant leading the Broncos with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Also, Alexis Radcliff came close behind in scoring having 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Imani Elliott came third for the Broncos, scoring 10 points. Winston-Salem had Taniah Wilkins lead them in scoring with 13 points and 9 rebounds. They also had two other players in double-digits with Valencia Carroll scoring 11 points and Amaya Tucker scoring 10 points.
The Broncos led the game the whole time, never letting the Rams get back into the game. The Broncos scored 32 points in the paint, leading over the Rams’ 20 points in the paint. Also, when it came down to second-chance points the Broncos led again scoring 16 second-chance points, while the Rams only had 8. The FSU women’s basketball team next face off against Claflin away in Orangeburg South Carolina.
The FSU men’s basketball team had also a mostly comfortable game. The lead only changed 3 times and never did either team tie. The key emphasis on this game was the Broncos’ great defense that led to 16 points off turnovers.
Also, the Broncos scored well in the paint, having 18 points in that area. Even the 3-point ball was hitting for them, especially when they were 50% from 3 in the second half. Marcus Elliott led the Broncos in scoring with 15 points, and Tyler Foster right behind him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Cress Worthy was third in scoring with 10 points.
The men’s team play Claflin same as the women, February 15 Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The women’s team start before the men at 5:30 p.m.
