On the morning of Jan. 18, 2014, residents flooded the streets of downtown Fayetteville, NC for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade.

The line up for the parade began early. The starting point for the parade was at the Cumberland County Courthouse and ended at the Amtrak Station on Hay Street.

With the temperature in the low 30s, people wrapped themselves in blankets as they watched the celebration. People of all ages enjoyed what the parade had to offer, including the entertainment of marching bands.

Although the breeze made it uncomfortable to be outside, the crowd remained, showing dedication in honor of someone so legendary.

Many years ago MLK left a major impact on the world and today his dream is still alive. Through celebrations of the opportunities MLK created for us all, every passing generation will have the chance to experience a vital piece of history.
