posted by Nicholas Robinson-Carter | November 7, 2023 | In NewsThe Delta XI Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. held their Mr. Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship pageant on September 29.
The event was held in Seabrook Auditorium, and nine males competed for the crown.
Running for Mr. DST are Jonah J. Reid, Joshua Waiters, Jaylon Wallace, Khalil Ridges, Virges Pearson, Antonio Underwood, Jaiden Flowers, Sevion Jemison and Joseph Barnes.
Dressed in the ’90s swag in line with the sorority’s colors, all the contestants started the pageant off with a dazzling dance number to “Candy” by Cameo.
Afterward, each male was dressed in their Sunday best/business professional attire for the interview portion of the contest hosted by soror Jada Phillips.
Then, the audience was treated to an exceptional dance performance from Soror Destiny Butts doing a rendition of Beyonce’s “I Was Here.”
The next portion of the contest was talent. This allowed the gentleman to demonstrate their skills—from rapping, modeling, monologuing, and even playing an instrument.
The last category before announcing the winner was athletics. The gentleman wore athletic attire such as soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, and boxing.
The pageant could not have been possible having the royal court take center stage.

Alongside them are Miss Delta XI Nadia Parker, Miss Crimson & Cream Logan Bryant, Miss 1913 Anjolaoluwa Thomas, and their accompanying escorts.
Miss Delta Sigma for the 2023-2024 academic year, Jaida Bynum, was introduced.
