Nets Nab More All-Stars
posted by Antonio Mitchell | April 2, 2021 | In News, SportsThe Brooklyn Nets have created an all-star team during the past two weeks, adding Blake Griffin from the Detroit Pistons along with LaMarcus Aldridge from the San Antonio Spurs on March 30.
The team began with 3 superstars that dominate on and off the court: Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden. Some basketball fans and critics thought this move was odd because their team was already complete and they did not need anyone else. Other critics thought Durant could not lead his team to a championship without the added superstars and that would hurt his legacy as a player.
The Nets have yet to play with the 5 all-stars all on the same floor yet due to injuries, but the changes have the potential to give the Nets an edge over everyone else. The narrative around the signings of these players have made it seem like the Nets are trying to beat LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, which could be the case in theory, but the Nets are building a franchise. The New York based team is trying to dominate the league just like the Golden State Warriors did. Soon, we will see if this new Brooklyn Nets team can contend for the NBA Finals.
