Panthers Bring Jadeveon Clowney Home on a 2-Year Deal
posted by Zaire Jones | April 2, 2024 | In SportsNew Carolina Panthers general manager Dan Morgan has done a lot so far in his first offseason: signing Jadeveon Clowney to a two-year $20 million deal with an extra $4 million in incentives.
Clowney had a few teams interested, such as the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs, but chose to go home to Carolina.
Clowney is a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina and went to high school at South Point High School. He would then go to the University of South Carolina to boast a great college career. The former first overall pick has battled injuries over his career but has produced when healthy.
Clowney is coming off a nine-and-a-half-sack season with the Baltimore Ravens as they were touted as one of the best defenses of the league.
This was a low-risk-high-reward move for the Panthers after just moving off Frankie Luvu, who signed with the Washington Commanders. Carolina would also send off Brian Burns to the New York Giants.
With Morgan’s new initiative to bring back the Carolina Panthers back to promise, adding a veteran such as Clowney helps shape what looks to be a fresh looking defense in Carolina.
