Senior 2024 Spotlight: Suryah Ethridge
posted by Nicholas Robinson-Carter | April 8, 2024 | In Arts and CultureFayetteville State University’s The Voice newspaper opinion editor and senior Suryah Ethridge will be graduating this May.
Ethridge is a Fayetteville native, who graduated from Seventy-First High School in 2020. She is also a mother to her son Hayrus.
Ethridge became a Bronco in Fall 2020, becoming a political science major because of her passion for communication and writing.
She is active on campus as, vice president of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and also current opinion editor of The Voice Student Newspaper.
After graduation, Ethridge plans to work in intelligence with the Department of Homeland Security. If it does not work out for her, then she will pursue a career in journalism.
As her time here as a Bronco comes to a close, Ethridge wanted to leave some special advice to tell her freshmen self: “Have fun. College goes by fast. I’m a mom and was too worried about just completing my assignment. But its okay to have a little bit of fun, enjoy college and make the most of it.”
Congratulations, Suryah, and FSU wishes you the best on a successful career path in line. The Voice is going to miss you as opinion editor. Best wishes for your future endeavor. Look out for our next senior spotlight from class of 2024!
