Student Business Feature: Crafty Cain Customs
posted by DorMiya Vance | November 15, 2021 | In Arts and Culture, NewsMeet Crafty Cain, a small business owner and visual arts major at Fayetteville State University.
Formerly known as Carlos McCain, this young entrepreneur takes his passion for sneakers and design to the next level with his shoe customization establishment, Crafty Cain Customs.
Now, a sophomore in college, Cain explored his talents for drawing early in high school and used his skill as a way to generate income while attaining a degree.
“I was just drawing. I was strictly drawing. I really wasn’t into painting like that. When I saw people doing different kinds of shapes and patterns and pictures on shoes, I really thought that was dope,” he explained, “I looked into more and more, and that’s when I got into [it].”
As he continues school and entrepreneurship, Cain hopes to one day give back to campus through improving the culture and arts morale around campus.
“Campus life is okay and everything, but I feel like it could be much better with art around school,” Cain said.
