This year’s election season has been heated! From multiple dorm-storms to powerful speeches, we voters were assigned the challenging task of choosing who is the best fit. But, now that voting is over, it is time to congratulate our elected officers on their supreme accomplishment.

This article introduces our new Student Body President and includes some of his plans for the upcoming 2014-2015 academic year. Fayetteville State University is a place that embraces student leadership and hard work-things that each of the elected officers have exemplified throughout their campaigns. So, without further ado, the 2014-2015 Student Body President is Mr. Jared James!

Below is a letter from our 2014-2015 Student Body President:

I am humbled to become the 2014-2015 Student Body President of Fayetteville State University. As your President, I am focused on three strategic goals that I believe, with the support of the student body, can make a better FSU today and a greater FSU for tomorrow.

Campus Security, Community Partnerships, and Igniting Bronco Pride; with added emphasis on these points, the campus will develop an environment for success. Redirecting our focus back to academics and relieving the stress of safety will contribute to the academic progression and quality of life experienced while living on campus. Through the development of Community Partnerships, Cumberland County will increase support given to our university and display a pride for the institution we call home. Finally, through the Igniting Bronco Pride initiative, the Student Government Association will host more events that attract the mass of the campus population and exploit the talents of our students.

April 30 Edition

I look forward to a productive year here at Fayetteville State University. I thank everyone for their support and efforts throughout the year.

With Much Love and Many Blessings,

-Jared James, 2014-2015 Student Body President.
