Transferring To FSU: The Best Decision For My Future.
posted by Troy Hobbs III | September 11, 2023 | In OpinionOn May 12th, 2023, I graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Arts. This is a transferable degree, however I didn’t have the slightest idea of where I even wanted to transfer to. After a couple months of procrastination, I decided to stay local and transfer to Fayetteville State University.
When I was getting registered, many of the admissions and academic advisors were very helpful and answered any questions I had. Since I had gone to FTCC which is a North Carolina community college, all my credits with a C or better were accepted and added to my degree plan per the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement set up between community colleges and North Carolina public universities.
My first day was one of the greatest days of my academic career. The campus was so lively and everyone was getting to know each other. Many faculty and students stopped to show me where to go when I got lost. At FSU everyone is so involved. There is never a time when you feel alone or isolated due to the many Broncos around you wanting to help and get to know you, both as a student and a person. There are many professors and advisors who are on campus to assist you if you need help with classes, course registration, or even help on an assignment. Classes are so interactive that there is never a dull moment. I look forward to going to my courses to learn more each day.
I was very skeptical of even transferring, but now that I am part of the ranks of Broncos, I have never felt happier about joining a school of like-minded people. FSU doesn’t treat me as a number, they treat me as a student. Fayetteville State University puts students first and does the best they can to invest in our futures, regardless of whether or not we’re freshman or transfers. We’re all Broncos, and Broncos are paving the way to give Fayetteville a better future!
