Trump(et) Sounds: Put Some Appreciation on My Name
posted by Law | March 30, 2020 | In OpinionIn a recent news interview, according to CNN, President Donald Trump made it clear, “What I need from you is appreciation.”
In response to CNN correspondent Daniel Dales’ question, “What more do you want the governors to do?”
President Trump replied: “I want them to be appreciative.”
The President took shots at the governors of Michigan and Washington, even calling Gov. Jay Inslee (D.-Wash.) a “failed presidential candidate.”
President Trump added that New York, referring to Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, “has been appreciative,” but “the woman,” as he referred to Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, seems to be lacking appreciation of President Donald Trump and the work of the federal government. “She has no idea what’s going on,” he said.
“I think the federal government has done a great job,” said President Trump. He went on to say, “I believe if you ask the Governor Murphy of New Jersey, I think he’d say ‘great,’ I think,” and in the same breath ended the statement with, “I don’t know, he is a Democrat.”
At the end of the interview, President Trump closed with “if you don’t appreciate me, then you don’t appreciate them [the federal government] and you don’t appreciate the Army Corps of Engineers, who are doing a hell of a job.”
Say this with me: We appreciate you, sir. Now, can we get back to this global pandemic?
Signed,
