Welcome Class of 2020
posted by Dajah Johnson | September 8, 2016 | In Arts and CultureThe new 2016-2017 school year has turned around a new leaf for the illustrious Fayetteville State University (FSU) as it has brought about one of our biggest freshman classes yet, according to the Office of Public Relations, with close to 700 students the school year is bound to be exciting.
Throughout the summer, FSU has been preparing for the class of 2020. Programs and freshman interest groups such as LEAP, First Steps and Orientation Leaders, BroncoStar, and more, have been working hard to show freshmen that they have made the right choice by attending FSU.
Freshmen and returning students all moved in their respective dorms on August 13, 2016 with the help of Operation Smooth Move, sponsored by the Department of Residence Life in the Division of Student Affairs. This group of helpers consisted of student athletes, Greeks, clubs/organizations, and many more volunteers. I got a chance to see it firsthand. There was a big turnout, and I was and still am so excited to have been a part of it.
All in all, I believe that Operation Smooth Move was successful and eliminated congestion, confusion, and made people feel comfortable and welcome. I am a firm believer that our illustrious university, Fayetteville State University, will have a good school year, and I hope that everyone else is just as excited as me. Welcome again students, faculty, and staff!
