Starting September 30, Cape Fear Botanical Garden welcomes twenty-seven larger than life statues that contain over 500,000 LEGO pieces with the Nature Connects: Art with LEGO Bricks exhibit.
Ranging in size from inches to nearly 8 feet, Garden visitors will encounter a variety of sculptures such as a giant bumblebee, a 7-foot-tall rose, and a tiger swallowtail butterfly around the Garden. The exhibit will include educational activities for all ages, a hands-on LEGO brick building station, and design competitions.
Artist Sean Kenney, a self-described “professional kid” and LEGO Certified Professional, spent so much time playing with LEGO toys as a kid that he decided to make a career out of it. Sean uses LEGO bricks to create things that connect to the world and hopes to inspire children of all ages to create great things themselves.
The exhibit will run until January 8, 2017 and entry to the exhibit is included in Garden admission.
Cape Fear Botanical Garden is located at 536 N. Eastern Blvd in Fayetteville.
