Fresh Take on Homecoming
posted by Dominque Elliott | October 9, 2019 | In NewsIt was officially the last Homecoming for the class of 2020 this year. Seniors may have been having the last hoorahs with their fellow classmates or even catching up with past friends who are now alumni. There are parties, events, and alumni galore during Homecoming, but what exactly are the thoughts of students who are experiencing their first rodeo?
“My first homecoming was really fun, but it wasn’t what I expected. I enjoyed every event and the guest that came to make it so special.” Tatyanna Montgomery, a freshman pre-biology major commented. “The only thing was the price of everything, but other than that it was great.”
“I think Homecoming is an amazing time for students and faculty to come together to celebrate the school,” Kasha Ennis, a freshman prebusiness major, said. “But some of the events they could have done a little better: check over technical stuff before, so it wouldn’t be problems when the time comes to the event. “
Sydney Edwards, a freshman who plans to double major in political science and psychology and minor in Chinese language and culture, said: “Homecoming week was an eventful experience as a freshman. There were a lot of activities to keep us freshman and everybody on campus outside of our rooms.”
Edwards gave an overall positive outlook on her first FSU Homecoming: “As a freshman, I enjoyed the activities. Being able to talk to the alumni about their experience and education at Fayetteville State was fun. … Every event that was held, I was in attendance with friends, and we all enjoyed ourselves.”
