posted by Ty Hamer-Yelverton | March 29, 2022 | In Arts and Culture, NewsAn invitation for all men came to Fayetteville in the package of the Just Heal Bro tour on March 23 at Seabrook Auditorium.
The Just Heal Bro Tour is designed to help Black men discover their voices and find strength in vulnerability and mental wellness. Created by Living Hope Productions, the tour discusses various topics from the speakers who were lined up for the event: football player turned family therapist and author Jay Barnett; actor and activist Lamman Rucker; pastor and marriage counselor Lawrence Adjah; and Norfolk State University psychology professor Dr. Osah Gadsden.
A few key takeaways that came from the event are these:
- King is a mentality. Black man, you are a king. You are perfectly imperfect.
- Every man should have these three Cs: cover, care, and counsel.
- Vulnerability is the greatest form of self-discovery
- The power of “No” protects your “Yes”
- Three relationships in life are most important: Relationship with yourself, with others, and with God
The Just Heal Bro Tour was sponsored by Fayetteville State University and The Arts Council of Cumberland County.
