Bronco Volleyball Team Blows Out Rams 3 – 0
posted by DorMiya Vance | September 27, 2021 | In SportsOn September 23, the FSU Women’s Volleyball team wiped out the WSSU Women’s volleyball team, beating the Rams in three consecutive sets.
The Broncos started the game with high energy and kills at the top of their list in the first set. With over 400+ students in the Capel Arena, the Broncos used the crowd excitement to hustle, make clever ball placements, and come out overall on top, winning the first set 25-22.
The Broncos started from behind in set two, and the Rams took the early lead 6-3. Mid-set, the Broncos captured a seven-point lead with quick plays and good volleys. The Rams managed to gain some leverage, pushing the game score 25-21 with the Broncos still in the lead and taking the lead at the end of set two.
Up two sets, the Broncos maintained their high energy with solid blocks and aggressive kills. The third and final set displayed clever ball placement and wise player position by the Broncos, leading to a tie score of 17-17 as the teams rocked back and forth between the lead.
The Broncos and the Rams stayed tied, 20-20, until the Broncos called for a final timeout to recoup and win the match. The game-winner was a kill executed by #15, Ashlyn Bradley.
The Broncos won the final set 25-22 over the Rams.
One of the leading scorers, De’Nesha Miller, expressed that Thursday’s win over the Rams was a strong comeback after losing the season opener versus the UNCP Lady Bulldog Volleyball team via Instagram (@fsu_broncos).
The next match-up for the Broncos will be 6 p.m., Monday, September 27, 2021, in Salisbury, NC. The Broncos will take on the Blue Bears of Livingstone College.
