Lakers Beat Stacked Nets
posted by Joshua Dungee | April 16, 2021 | In SportsOn April 10, the Los Angeles Lakers come away with the win against the Brooklyn Nets, even without Lebron James and Anthony Davis, their two most valuable players.
After the Nets recently added Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge to their roster, many basketball fans thought the team would be unbeatable. However, the Lakers proved the skeptics wrong by beating the Nets 126 – 101, and they did so without James who missed the game due to an ankle injury and Davis due to a calf injury. The Nets were also missing Harden due to a hamstring injury
Andre Drummond stepped up his game for the Lakers and ended the night with 20 points and 11 rebounds, which helped his team come away with the win.
Dennis Schroder also had a good night, scoring 19 points for the Lakers, but his game was cut short after he and Irving both got ejected from the game after a verbal altercation that resulted in both players receiving a technical foul.
Despite his rejection, Schroder was still proud of his team, telling ESPN: “Today we were out here competing, making shots and, yeah, that’s the best win of the year I would say.”
Durant finished with a total of 22 points and Irving ended with 18 points before his ejection to keep the Nets close behind the Lakers for the majority of the game.
