Seth Trimble Enters Transfer Portal
posted by Troy Hobbs III | April 16, 2024 | In SportsSeth Trimble, the Tar Heels sixth man and sophomore will be leaving University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in search of a new school, he announced earlier this week.
Trimble, the 6’3” guard from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, played a huge role in the Carolina Tar Heels’ success this season.
The high-flying Trimble had a career high of 12 points against Florida State University this year, as well as proving to be reckoned with on defense.
The news came from Trimble’s personal Instagram, that he is beyond grateful for the experiences he has had as a Tar Heel and will love the Tar Heel nation for the rest of his life.
Trimble stated his primary motivation for transferring is to better and further his career. This primary reason, it seems, is for him to get more playing time, as it is unclear whether R.J. Davis will stay for his additional fifth year or go to the NBA Draft.
It also can be a conflict issue, as if Davis decides to go pro, Trimble and freshman point guard Elliot Cadeau are close range scorers. This will cause the Tar Heel offense to become very one-dimensional, proving to be unsuccessful.
CBS Sports has Trimble ranked 42nd on their transfer list so far. It will be interesting to see who Coach Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels’ recruiting staff wish to bring in, both recruiting and the transfer portal to bounce back from the shocking Sweet 16 Elimination by the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.
The Tar Heels are losing two of their starters due to them completing their eligibility: star player Armando Bacot and key player Cormac Ryan.
However, it showcases that Trimble has no ill will towards the Tar Heel nation as he states that the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will have a special place in his heart.
