VOI030505j The Fayetteville State University men’s basketball team came close to defeating Livingstone on Friday, Feb. 28. The team came to the tournament ready to give it their all. After beating Lincoln 81-74, on Feb. 27, FSU was eager to take on Livingstone for the final spot in the championship. As the final games of the season, fans and student athletes were clamoring for their shot at the title.

Livingstone and Fayetteville State duked it out to see who would get the chance to win the title for 2014. The game started with both teams playing hardball. However, Livingstone took the lead in the first half. FSU was a force to be reckoned with during the middle of the game, and they came back in the second-half to lead the game 67-62. Until the last four minutes of the game FSU was in the lead, but Livingstone rallied to defeat with a 79-73 victory.
