President Obama Says We’re Stronger Together
posted by Hanine Mohamed | December 19, 2016 | In NewsPresident Barack Obama campaigned for Hillary Clinton when he stopped by Fayetteville State University on November 4th. This historical event marked the first time a sitting president visited FSU.
It was a memorable day for many students, family, and citizens of Fayetteville.
Yvonne Boone stated, “It was one of the best experience in my life and to be a part of history is even better. I get to say that I had the opportunity to see the 44th POTUS in person!”
During his speech, the President Obama stressed the importance of voting. “I need you to vote. America needs you to vote… he stated to the crowds. “If you vote, we’ll win North Carolina. If we win North Carolina, Hillary Clinton will be President.”
According to Ballotpedia, Clinton secured only 46.7% of NC votes, while Trump received 50.6%. Nationally, Clinton won the popular vote by over 1.5 million, according to ABCnews. However, with 290 electoral votes, Trump was elected to serve as the next president. Clinton received 232 electoral votes.
