Fayetteville rapper, Morray is on the rise

Since then, Morray has be recognized by some very prominent names in the rap game such as Fayetteville native, J. Cole, and Charlotte rapper Dababy. “Quicksand” even got the attention of seven-time Grammy winner, Jay Z as he added it to his “2020 Vision COVID-19” Tidal playlist. By January 2021, “Quicksand” gained 3.2 million U.S. streams and the music video is sitting at over 40 million views on YouTube at the time of print.
“I want to be that light in the ghetto,” Morray told Billboard. “I want to be the person that makes you smile and shows you the hood ain’t all that bad.”
On Friday, March 12, Morray shot a video for his single “Trenches” in Fayetteville at the Westover Recreation Center and invited the whole community. According to The Fayetteville Observer, people began lining up around 8 a.m. for a chance to be in the video.
Giving back to the community was at the top of Morray’s list when shooting this video, “If you establish love in your community first, the hate will be less and far between” Morray told the Fayetteville Observer.
