Quarantine Inspired Me To Write a Book
posted by Andres Castillo | November 7, 2023 | In OpinionWriting is something I’m passionate about. I started working on my first book during quarantine in May 2020 when I was 22. Although it was not easy, I finished this book, but unfortunately couldn’t find my flash drive. After about a year, I started over on this project from scratch.
My book is titled “My Life’s Journey with Autism as a Military Child.” It is about moving as part of a military family, my school achievements, my college experiences, my challenges with autism, and my relationships with my loved ones, including friends from all over the country. It is about my journey from my early childhood into adulthood, and will include pictures all throughout my life so far.
I asked my friends for permission to be included in my first book. Most of my friends said yes.
Being moved by the military was difficult for me because it put me through constant change throughout my school years. I have been to 3 different community colleges, 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 4 high schools all over the United States.
My first book will be published on Amazon a week before Thanksgiving, and will be available from a variety of sources, including Walmart, Target, and eBay. I hope to also get it published in Colombia and Puerto Rico, where my extended family lives. I plan to give samples of my first book to everyone before it’s published. If someone wanted to learn about me, I would recommend reading my book, so they could hear about my experiences moving with the military, and learn about which states in which I have lived.
I had someone review my book for me on the Fiverr website in July 2023. My book, “My Life’s Journey with Autism as a Military Child,” will be published in Spanish and English.
