Fayetteville State University Bronco model and student leader Shamya Brawner will be graduating in December 2023
Brawner is from Washington, D.C. She graduated from Anacostia High School in 2019.
Brawner became a Bronco in fall 2019, becoming a pre-nursing major until this year she decided to major in healthcare administration with a minor in psychology because of her love for helping others.
She currently serves as Vice President of National Council of Negro Women, a model for Black Millennium Modeling Club, and part of TRiO Student Support Services. She is also active on campus as an orientation leader through the Office of Student Engagement.
After graduation, Shamya plans to graduate school to become a nurse. She hopes to have a private office in the medical field working with children, or as an alternate career, she aspires to be an information technology analyst.
As she heads to the finish line as a Bronco, Brawner wanted to leave some final words on journey as a college student: “To the future generations: be yourself. It takes time to find who you are as a person. Surround yourself with genuine people. Get involved on campus and make a name for yourself in the positive spotlight. College is not easy, and there are going to be very bumpy roads, but lean on others such as friends, family, even faculty. There is always a listening ear and helping hand.”
Congratulations, Shamya, and FSU wishes you the best on an extraordinary career path in line. Look out for another senior spotlight for the class of 2023!
