Senior 2024 Spotlight: Sports Editor Breasia Williams
posted by Nicholas Robinson-Carter | March 26, 2024 | In Arts and CultureFayetteville State University’s The Voice newspaper sports editor and senior Breasia Williams will be graduating this May.
Williams is from Wichita, Kansas, and graduated from Northeast Magnet High in 2020 where she played basketball, volleyball, and ran track.
Before becoming a Bronco, she attended Wichita State University in the fall 2020, and did two successful years of women’s indoor and outdoor track as a sprinter. Williams majored in psychology while at WSU.
Williams transferred to FSU during 2022-2023 academic year. She majored in communication and media studies with a minor in creative and professional writing.
She is active on campus such as, Pre-Law Society, Alpha Theta Zeta Communications Honor Society, The Voice Student Newspaper, and currently runs track as a sprinter.
Breasia received third place for opinion writing for her work at The Voice at North Carolina College Media Association at High Point University in High Point, NC.
After graduation, Williams plans to take a gap year and resume her studies for the LSAT test and apply for law school in fall 2025. Her goal is to write books, travel, and do volunteer work.
As her time here as a Bronco comes to a close, Williams wanted to leave some special advice to tell her freshmen self: “I would tell my freshmen self not to doubt my abilities and do not be afraid of change.”
