Snow Day

Nothing says a day off from school like a snow day!

On the morning of Jan. 29, 2014 FSU students woke up to a winter wonderland! Many students chose to sleep in on their snow day, but some students, including football players Damon Nixon and Ruben Ortega, decided to enjoy the weather and an outstanding meal in the Randolph Jones Student Center.

Offensive lineman Damon Nixon, from Los Angeles, California, said, “Man, I haven’t seen snow since I was a little kid, this is awesome!”

His teammate Middle Linebacker Ruben Ortega, from Orange County, California, stated, “This is my first time seeing snow.”

You could tell Damon and Ruben enjoyed the snow. In fact, they put their efforts together to make their first snowman. After, they invited me to their breakfast table to share more about themselves. Both, majoring in criminal justice, expressed that although it is great to spend the day playing in the snow, they plan to spend the rest of their day studying and working out.

Like Damon and Ruben, hopefully other FSU Broncos enjoyed a safe, wintery day off.
