Broncos, what better way to spend a Friday night than in the theatre amongst a troupe of theatrical raw talent? The theatre itself is always filled with passionate voices echoing down its halls. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by the colorful and lively personalities of aspiring actors and actresses.

This semester is especially significant to students in Theater Department because they are running their own shows, getting hands-on experience in their field of specialty, and further enhancing and solidifying their skills as actors, set designers, costume coordinators, make-up artists and more.

The Department of Performing and Fine Arts gave two amazing performances showcasing their talents. The first show to make its debut was The Velveteen Rabbit adapted by Elise Kauzlaric and based on the story by Margery Williams.

VOI030506VA whimsical children’s story based on a young boy named Timothy who struggles to win over his stern grandmother with the velveteen rabbit as a companion. Timothy wishes to spend the holiday with his father while the rabbit’s only wish is to become real. Both the boy and the rabbit must learn to become courageous and work with the cards that life has dealt them, while together gaining a close friendship and life-long bond. This was not an ordinary tale of the bond between two friends; it was a delightful children’s story full of toys that come to life, enchanting its younger audience, and the eager and imaginative child within us all!
