WAC’s Pillow Talk and Paint Provides Rare Face-to-Face Fun
posted by Victoria Walker | October 23, 2020 | In Arts and Culture, NewsOn Sunday October 11 Fayetteville State University’s Weekend Activities Council (WAC) hosted a pillow talk and paint in the amphitheater, and it was a huge success. The goal of the event was to design a pillowcase and make it into a pillow after it was finished.
WAC had a variety of options available paint, tie-dye, fabric markers, and so much more. The event turned out to be more notably fun for both artist and those of us just there to get out of our dorms. Even the rainy weather didn’t stop the event. WAC came ready for the event and accommodated the needs of all Broncos attending the event. With everything going on, it feels good to finally see face-to-face events popping up on campus, even if it is only for the first 20 people. WAC members made the event both relaxing and a place to meet new people by sparking conversations among group attending the event.
I also applaud the members of WAC for sitting down and taking the time to host the event while getting to know or speak to everyone at the event on a one-on-one basis. This is an event I am hoping to see pop back up from them in the future or something similar.
Senior and art major Alisa Bryant said, “This was fun I wish we had more events like this on campus more often.”
For the first face-to-face even some of us have gone to since the COVID-19 pandemic has hit, this event surely sit the bar high and the pillows at home are a real reminder of this fun event.
