A Lackluster Pandemic Super Bowl
posted by Antonio Mitchell | February 12, 2021 | In SportsSuper Bowl 55, for some, was an incredibly delightful day if they were either a Tom Brady fan or just a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. For others, it was a very disappointing game for their team if they were a Chiefs fan because it looked as though their defense and offense just were not clicking whatsoever. For Buccaneers fans, the day was good because they won and did in such an astounding way, that it left football fans across the world in shock.
This year’s Super Bowl was played between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which should have been a clash between two giants. You had the Greatest of All Time (GOAT), Tom Brady vs. the upcoming quarterback Patrick Mahomes. You had two great offenses and defenses playing against each other to declare who is going to be the best in the world. The lead up to the game was highly anticipated and everyone wanted to watch it because we were witnessing greatness before our very eyes on one of the biggest stages in sports, the Super Bowl.
Kansas City played a very lackluster offensive game as well as a defensive game that left fans of the team and fans of the sport hoping and wishing for them to play better. It never happened. For the first time in Patrick Mahomes football career, he was held without a touchdown. There were conversations that if Patrick Mahomes did not beat Tom Brady in this Super Bowl, that he would never be able to catch up to Tom Brady because he would have 7 rings and that is a tough task to accomplish.
