Broncos Extend a Helping Hand at Cape Fear Botanical Gardens
posted by Suryah Ethridge | March 14, 2023 | In NewsOn March 4, FSU students volunteered at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. This was a great opportunity for students to enjoy the outdoors, while helping their community.
Cape Fear Botanical Garden is an 80-acre garden. Volunteers were informed that there were only three workers that managed the upkeep of the garden. The site manager was so pleased to have volunteers because they desperately needed help. This is when the Broncos stepped in.
These students enjoyed the lovely garden and were in awe of the sights. It was a lovely day to help workers in the garden. Volunteers did an array of things, from picking up pinecones to picking up defunct plants.
While it may not sound fun, the Bronco volunteers were all smiles. While working, the students met other volunteers and connected with fellow citizens of their community.
The Bronco volunteers truly enjoyed themselves. They turned volunteer work into something fun and rememberable. The site manager was so pleased with the help, that she invited FSU students back to volunteer. So, if you would like to volunteer with the school, please be on the lookout for future events.
