Lebron’s 4th Quarter Surge Leads Lakers past Clippers 116-112

In an evenly matched first quarter, Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard was the main scorer. Leonard was huge in taking an early lead.
The Lakers’ duo of Anthony Davis and Lebron James took most of the scoring load and on the defensive end. The Lakers’ do-it-all guard Austin Reaves, made quality plays as well. The Clippers would hold a narrow lead over the Lakers in the first.
In the second quarter, James Harden erupted, scoring 13 in the quarter, leading the Clippers to a wide margin over the Lakers. The Lakers were sluggish both on offense and defense in the second quarter. Heading into halftime, the Clippers led 66-52.
In the third quarter it was more of the same for the Clippers, as Leonard, Amir Coffey, Daniel Theis and Terance Mann would help the Clippers increase their lead to about 21 to end the third quarter.
With the game seemingly all but over, James would go into takeover mode. Fifteen of ‘s 19 points in the fourth came from 3-point line. Before you knew it, the Clippers’ lead was in single digits. The Lakers had all the momentum as they got Laker faithful into the game. Clippers, on the other hand, were all out of sorts. The whole team outside of Leonard looked lazy of which the Lakers took advantage. D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, and Cam Reddish were huge in the fourth along with James. The Lakers would outscore the Clippers 39-16 to win their 33rd game of the year.
Currently sitting in ninth as a play-in, the Lakers look to stack up wins and move up the standings. The Lakers will have an uphill battle with seven of their next eight games are teams all above .500.
