Maui Invitational Moves to NC
posted by Antonio Mitchell | October 23, 2020 | In News, SportsThis year NCAA Maui Invitational has moved to North Carolina due to COVID-19. The Maui Invitational was scheduled for this Thanksgiving, but was rescheduled for November 30 through December 10 in Asheville, NC.
There will be testing before teams come to Asheville as well as while teams are there. The 8 teams that were asked to join were UNC-Chapel Hill, Davidson College, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Stanford University, University of Alabama, University of Texas, Providence College, and Indiana University.
The tournament will not have tickets for fans to attend, but even with no fans in attendance, this tournament could bring in a lot of revenue for the city. The city could make $1.1 million and that is just the event itself.
