Sorry, It’s Over: Miami Beach Issues Curfew Laws

The city of Miami Beach released a viral ad stating that they are done with Spring Break. This is all a part of a campaign to help discourage college students and other tourists from engaging in unruly behavior.
Many of you may be planning on going to Miami for Spring Break, but before you go, there are a few things you should keep in mind.
First and foremost be safe, don’t engage in unruly behavior and respect your surroundings. You are visiting, after all, so it is best to respect the beaches and respect those who call Miami their home.
Miami has implemented a few rules such as curfews, paying fees for parking, Blocking off beach access and more. If you want to win the heart of Miami, then you should be sure to pay attention to the new guidelines.
Miami is issuing curfews, so this means that after a certain time tourists should not be on the beach or roaming the streets. They are also cracking down on drunk driving and driving under the influence, so there will be DUI checkpoints.
They are also implementing bag searches, and there is a list of restricted items on the beach. While on the beach, inflatables, coolers and loud music are banned unless you have a permit.
Miami Beach police are cracking down on drug possession laws as well as cracking down on violence. If you are caught with drugs, they are going to arrest you and you will spend the weekend in jail. Court isn’t open on the weekends, so keep that in mind because if you get caught, you will be sitting the weekend in jail.
Now this is not to scare you, if you already have plans to go to Miami, then go. Go have fun but be safe! We all want you to return home in one piece. So, respect the new rules. Don’t get into any unnecessary trouble. Police presence will be increased so, just be on the lookout. Have fun and enjoy the beautiful weather of Miami Beach!
