Texas Rangers sweep the Orioles 3-0 to Advance to ALCS
posted by Zaire Jones | October 23, 2023 | In SportsThe Texas Rangers beat the Baltimore Orioles in a 7-1 victory to advance in the ALCS for the first time since 2011. The Texas Rangers will now await the winner of the Astros/Twins series.
Heading into Game 3, the Texas Rangers had all the momentum coming home for game 3. Texas took both of Baltimore’s home games 3-2 and 11-8, respectively. In the driver’s seat of the series, the Texas Rangers knew they would need to close the series out in front of their own crowd.
Texas pitcher Nathan Eovaldi would start game 3, and Dean Kremer would start for Baltimore. Eovaldi had a real solid outing with 5 hits given up, 1 earned run and 7 strikeouts in 7 innings pitched. Dean Kremer had an abysmal outing giving up 7 hits, 6 earned runs and no strikeouts in 1.2 innings pitched.
Corey Seager hit a solo home run to put the Rangers up 1-0, followed up by a 2-run double by Mitch Garver to make it 3-0. Adolis Garcia would then hit a 3-run homer to make it a 6-0 ballgame and conclude with a 5-run 2nd inning. The only run for the Orioles would come from an RBI single from Gunnar Henderson.
This a great moment for the Rangers and their fans who have waited a long time for not only a playoff appearance, but a playoff series win.
