Another Cinderella Story: Homecoming Coronation 2021
posted by DorMiya Vance | October 19, 2021 | In Arts and Culture, NewsThe real is back; the ‘Ville is back. That’s what our Fayetteville State University Broncos were saying as we celebrated NOHOE, or the number one homecoming on earth, this year, kicked off with the princess-themed coronation ceremony. This fairy tale event recognized our kings and queens among each student organization, as well as the crowning of our 80th Miss FSU, Sha’More Lowery, and 27th Mr. FSU, Jacob Crutchfield.
This glorious occasion brought out the best in our Broncos. Students within the FSU Royal Court were clothed in elegant, royal blue dresses and suits. Mr. and Miss FSU lit up the arena with their pure white garments and glistening headgear.
The program opened with the inauguration of our FSU student leaders. SGA President Sydney Harris, who serves in her second term as SGA President, delivered a moving inaugural speech that ended in enthusiastic applause.
Mr. and Miss FSU, along with their Royal Court, gave the FSU students, staff, and alumni an open dance number that will forever remain a memory of this year’s Homecoming. The Court danced as if they were guests at Cinderella’s ball but did not fail to bring us back to reality, ending the number with a viral Tik Tok dance created by musical artist Saucy Santana.
As the night continued, the various student organizations debuted their kings and queens. Each student walked gracefully across the stage dressed in their Sunday best.
This occasion was also when our Broncos said farewell to former Miss FSU, DaBria Moore, and Mr. FSU, Ahmad Moore. The former Mr. and Miss FSU took the stage and reflected on their time as the face of FSU.
Near the conclusion of the program, our Broncos witnessed the presentation of our FSU Royal Court. The FSU Royal Court began with Mr. and Miss Freshman and concluded with Mr. and Miss Senior.
As our Broncos applauded the Royal Court, the moment came when Miss FSU, Sha’More Lowery, and Mr. FSU, Jacob Crutchfield, were handed the torch and crown as the new faces of FSU. The moment was immaculate. After the two received their crowns, they sat upon their thrones and basked in the glorious moment.
Coronation 2021 concluded with the announcement of the 2021 Homecoming King and Queen. The moment came when Mr. Jabril Hogan won the title of Homecoming King by a landslide. The battle for Homecoming Queen was tough among the six candidates, but Miss Brianna Alston won the crown and was named Homecoming Queen.
