For the love of Ramen: Ichi Kaku
posted by Karizma Howard | April 11, 2022 | In Arts and CultureWhere Yoshi Express used to be, now stands the new ramen spot called Ichi Kaku. Chef Yohei Kamiya and wife Tara had the grand opening of their new restaurant on April 3.
The new restaurant is bringing Japanese street food right here to Fayetteville.
When asked what brought the couple to Fayetteville, Tara Kamiya stated that “Fayetteville is a budding business community for entrepreneurs.”
The couple found their way back to the states when Yohei Kamiya wanted to do more than sushi. He is a self-taught cook who has been cooking for about 25 years. Being from Japan, Kamiya wanted to pursue his lifelong dream and go into business for himself.
Outside of ramen, the restaurant also offers takoyaki, which are fried octopus balls, and Japanese curry.
Tara Kimiya says that the Japanese curry rice “will blow your mind.”
If you love ramen or want to try the famous Japanese curry rice, head over to 350 N. Eastern Blvd.
