The Upcoming Midterm Elections
The voting process has always been important. There is no doubt about how much of an impact voting can have on our future. And that is exactly why all people eighteen years of age or older, who have not yet voted, should do so as soon as possible. One vote can make a big difference in all our lives. The midterm elections are Tuesday, November 6. The result of the election will determine which political party, Democrats or Republicans, will have control over the Senate and the House of Representatives during the next two years. Although there have been some recent complications due to early voting for the midterm elections, the best option for all is to go out and cast your vote.
More than anything, it is imperative that all millennial vote. In the past, millennials did not vote and had a “feeling of disappointment” about politics. As a result, bad things happened that could have been avoided if more people had voted. According to an investigation of multiple credible websites, many young adults know that people’s rights and freedoms are being eliminated day by day; however, only a small percentage of those people will vote on November 6. The millennials of today have not decided if they will vote or simply do not care because “they are not interested in politics”.
Although this election will not determine our next president, it is still very important. Congress, which consists of the Senate and the House of Representatives together, has a lot of power when it comes to the governance of the United States and how many things can turn out now and in the future. Congress is not more powerful than the president, nor is the president more powerful than Congress; however, it is still important to vote to have your voice heard, especially regarding which political party should and will have power in Congress.
Now more than ever, your vote, millennials, is important; and, you must go out and vote. And, make sure your friends and family members also vote. A single vote can change everything.
