Week 5: 49ers Rout Cowboys on SNF
posted by Zaire Jones | October 23, 2023 | In SportsIn a highly anticipated matchup, the San Francisco 49ers dominated the Dallas Cowboys 42-10 in primetime. This was a rematch of last year’s NFC Divisional Playoff Matchup where the 49ers got the best of Dallas.
The 49ers started off early with an opening drive touchdown. The 49ers were up at halftime 21-7, and then would proceed to outscore the Cowboys 21-3 in the second half. It seemed like from the opening that the 49ers had a chip on their shoulder and something to prove.
49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and tight end George Kittle had themselves great nights. Purdy finished the night off with 252 yards and 4 touchdowns. Kittle accounted for 3 of those touchdowns to go along with 67 receiving yards. Christian McCaffery had a decent game rushing with 51 yards rushing.
On the defensive side of the ball, star linebacker Fred Warner was all over the field. Warner finished with a sack, a forced fumble and an interception.
The 49ers are now one of the two undefeated teams left in the NFL along with the Philadelphia Eagles at 5-0. The 49ers will now travel to Cleveland next week to face the 2-2 Browns next Sunday.
